First Round of Vitamin ‘A’ Plus Campaign Starts June 28

The first round of the national Vitamin ‘A’ Plus Campaign-2026 will be held simultaneously across the country on June 28. Under this program, children aged between 6 and 59 months will be administered Vitamin 'A' capsules. The government has set a target to feed Vitamin 'A' capsules to a total of 24,036,022 children in the country this year.

The State Minister for Health, Dr. M. A. Muhit, disclosed this information on Thursday during a press briefing held at the Secretariat in the capital on the occasion of the inauguration of the National Vitamin ‘A’ Plus Campaign.

The State Minister said that Vitamin 'A' plays a vital role in boosting children's health, strengthening their immune systems, and reducing malnutrition risks. Therefore, he sought the cooperation of parents, public representatives, health workers, and all concerned stakeholders to ensure that all eligible children in the country are administered Vitamin 'A' capsules on the scheduled day.

According to the Ministry of Health, Vitamin 'A' services will be delivered to children even in the remotest parts of the country through this national program. To achieve this, trained health workers and volunteers will be on duty at designated centers nationwide.

Experts state that Vitamin 'A' plays a crucial role in protecting children's eyesight, boosting immunity, and ensuring normal physical and mental development. Consequently, it is highly imperative to ensure that children within the targeted age group receive this capsule.

The Health Department has urged parents to bring their children to the designated centers in their respective areas on the campaign day, June 28, to receive the Vitamin 'A' capsules.
