HC asks govt to block ‘Blue Whale’ game

The High Court asked the government to block the "Blue Whale Challenge" game and all other same type of games which are blamed for triggering suicide among its players across the world.

The High Court bench of Justice Moyeenul Islam Chowdhury and Justice JBM Hassan came up with the order on Monday.

The HC also ordered the authorities concerned to restrain mobile phone operators from offering all kind of special packages of all mobile phone operators from 12:00am to 6:00pm.

The court also issued a rule asking the government to explain within four weeks why necessary measures should not be taken to stop such dangerous games.

Home Secretary, Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) and Inspector General Police (IGP) and other concerned authorities were made respondents to the rule.
