CID sub-inspector Susanta suspended

Susanta Kumar Rahut, sub-inspector of Criminal Investigation Department's (CID) Motijheel unit, has been suspended.

A responsible official of CID confirmed the matter to Samakal on Thursday noon.

The vernacular daily Samakal on Thursday run a news on its first page titled 'How much bribe can make Susanta 'calm down'.

The concerned authorities took this step following the news. 

According to the news, Susanta demanded bribe amounting Tk 1 crore from a travel agency. However, the agency paid Tk 45 lakh as per the demand.
