JS Speaker shocked at Mohiuddin Chowdhury’s death

Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury on Friday expressed profound shock at the death of former Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) Mayor and city Awami League President ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury. 

In a condolence message, the Speaker said Mohiuddin Chowdhury who believed in Bengali nationalism was a dedicated leader. “His demise is an irreparable loss to Awami League,” she said. 

The Speaker prayed for salvation of the departed soul and conveyed her heart-felt sympathy to Mohiuddin’s bereaved family members, UNB reports.

Deputy Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad M Fajle Rabbi Miah and Chief Whip ASM Firoj also expressed their deep shock at the death of Mohiuddin Chowdhury and conveyed their deep sympathies to the bereaved family members. 

Mohiuddin Chowdhury passed away at Max Hospital in Chittagong around 3:00am at the age of 73.
