Non-MPO teachers, employees start fast unto death

After sit-in programme for five days, the demonstrating teachers and employees of non-MPO educational institutions started fast unto death on Sunday morning.
The teachers and employees under the banner of "Non-MPO Shikhya Pratishthan Shikhyak Karmachari Federation" from across the country started the strike in front of National Press Club around 9:00am.
They were staging sit-in programme since December 26 demanding their enlistment under the government’s Monthly Payment Order (MPO) facilities.
"No one is noticing US though we are demonstrating for five days," said the federation chairman Golam Mahmudunnabi adding that they were compelled to start hunger strike to realise their demand.
