Days of guarding ballot paper whole night gone: CEC

Citing the days of guarding ballot paper the whole night is gone, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda has said that the commission has to move towards the use of EVM gradually.    

The CEC said this while addressing the inaugural session of a training programme titled 'training for trainers' and training on the use of Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) at the Election Commission Institute on Sunday. 

The election commission is thinking of arranging training for the polling agents this year for the first time in our country, said the CEC. 

"EC won't work upon the directions of politicians or political parties," he said adding that the EC has to work so that the voters can vote without any hassle.
