It's not possible to change road transport law now: Quader

Urging the transports workers to end their strike, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has said that it is not possible to accept the demands of transport workers and change the road transport laws at the moment.

Quader, also general secretary of ruling Awami League, came up with the remark while talking to reporters after a meeting with the EU ambassador to Bangladesh at Setu Bhaban in Dhaka's Mohakhali on Sunday. 

The minister called on the transport workers to be patient and withdraw their 48-hour strike considering public sufferings. “If there are any legitimate concerns they can be addressed through dialogue,” he said.  

The transport workers under the banner of 'Bangladesh Road Transport Workers Federation' has started their work abstention from 6:00am today to press home their eight-point demand and changes to the recently revised road transport law.
