2 held for 'creating fake news sites'

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested two people for their alleged involvement in creating fake websites of some national newspapers and online news portals. 

Members of RAB-2 arrested the two from capital's Mohammadpur and Gazipur's Tongi areas last night. 

Mufti Mahmud Khan, RAB's Legal and Media Wing director, confirmed the matter to media this morning. 

They are spreading fake and provocative news through the fake websites ahead of the general election, RAB said.

Earlier on November 24, RAB arrested a PhD researcher, Enamul Haque, from Airport Railway Station area in the city on the same allegation.
