JP candidate Shafin Ahmed's nomination paper rejected

Election officials have rejected the nomination paper of lead vocalist of popular band Miles and Jatiya Party mayoral candidate Shafin Ahmed for the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) by-polls.   

Returning Officer Abul Kashem at the Returning Office of DNCC said that Shafin Ahmed’s nomination had been rejected due to default loans. 

The officials have accepted the candidacies of five others who submitted their nomination papers, including Awami League aspirant businessman Atiqul Islam, he said.  

According to the schedule, the by-polls for DNCC will be held on February 28.
