Circular bus service launched at Dhanmondi

A modern circular bus service which will run on Dhanmondi-New Market-Azimpur route was launched on Wednesday in a bid to bring discipline in the capital's public transport.      

Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Sayeed Khokon inaugurated the circular bus service near the Kalabagan Bus Stand around 12:00pm.    

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Atiqul Islam, Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia, Chairman of Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) Moshiar Rahman, Chairman of Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) Farid Ahmed Bhuiyan, among others, were present during the inauguration.  

"A committee which was formed by the instruction of prime minister is working to reduce the traffic congestion in Dhaka. The circular bus service is a part of it", said Sayeed Khokon.

It was known that, a total of 25 buses will run on Dhanmondi-New Market-Azimpur route which will stop at 36 spots. The bus will come after every 5 minutes.  

Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) will supervise the service that will cost Tk10, Tk20, or Tk30, depending on the distance travelled.
