Govt asks colleges under nat’l university to take online classes

The ministry of education has urged all the colleges under the National University to take classes online to continue the educational activities in the wake of coronavirus(COVID-19) pandemic.

In the light of the decision of an emergency virtual meeting held on April 30 last, Vice Chancellor of National University Prof Dr Harun-ur-Rashid directed all the colleges under the National University to take online classes, according to a press release, signed by Acting Director of the Public Relations, Information, and Consulting Office of the National University Md. Faizul Karim, here on Sunday.

Prof Dr Harun-ur-Rashid gave some instructions to the teachers and students of all the affiliated 2,260 colleges or educational institutions and all concerned to carry out the educational activities maintaining cent percent health rules during the outbreak of COVID-19, the release added.

In the directions, it is also said that colleges that have the ability to take online classes will introduce online classes on an emergency basis.

Colleges or educational institutions which do not have online class facility are also directed to come under this facility immediately, it added.

In this case, students are asked to join online classes which will be conducted from their respective educational institutions using mobile apps developed by the National University or ‘Zoom’ software.

Until the spread of coronavirus(COVID-19), there was no session jam in the affiliated colleges of the National University, the release said, adding that in order to maintain that continuity, each student is asked to prepare him or her for the examination (to be held at the end of the ongoing lockdown) sitting in his or her own room.
