Bangladesh world’s most polluted country

Bangladesh's air quality was the worst in the world in 2021, according to the World Air Quality Report 2021 published by IQAir, a worldwide air quality data platform. Its capital, Dhaka, was the second most polluted city in the world.

IQAir reports reads, "In 2021, Central and South Asia had some of the world's worst air quality and was home to 46 of the world's 50 most polluted cities."

According to the report, air pollution reached dangerous levels around the world in 2021.

Average annual air pollution levels in every country — and 97 percent of cities — exceeded the World Health Organization's air quality criteria, which were created to assist countries in developing rules to safeguard public health, it said.
