Long Eid holidays won’t affect economy: Finance Adviser

Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed stated that the extended Eid holidays will not negatively impact the economy. 

Speaking after the Secretariat's Advisory Committee on Government Procurement meeting on Wednesday, he said that traders will operate their business as usual.

Arrangements have also been made for cattle markets, he added.

Salehuddin Ahmed noted that other countries often have longer holidays for such occasions, and this government holidays will not adversely affect the economy. 

The Eid-ul-Azha holiday begins on Thursday and will last 10 days, ending on June 14.
