3 UPDF activists gunned down in Rangamati

Three members of United People's Democratic Front (UPDF) were gunned down by unidentified assailants in Baghaichhari upazila of Rangamati.  

The incident took place at Korolyachhari village under Sajek union early Monday.

The deceased were identified as Smrity Chakma, 47, Atol Chakma, 35, and Sanjib Chakma, 45.  

Confirming the matter, Alamgir Kabir, superintendent of police in Rangamati, said police members have been sent to the spot.

Demanding justice, UPDF spokesperson Niron Chakma claimed that extremist group members of Jana Sanghati Samiti (JSS) committed the killings.
