‘Robber’ lynched in Jashore

A suspected robber was killed in a lynch-mob attack on Jashore-Magura highway adjacent to Nongarpur Bazar in the district town early Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Buli, 39, a residence of Hasimpur village under Jashore Sadar upazila.

AKM Azmal Huda, OC of Kotwali Police Station, said locals chased a gang of robbers while they were committing robbery to a bus on the highway and caught one of them.

They gave him good thrashing, leaving him critically injured.

On information, police rescued him and took him to Jashore General Hospital where the duty doctors declared him dead.
