Ayub Bachchu’s body taken to Chattogram

The body of rock legend and musical band LRB founder Ayub Bachchu has been taken to Chattogram this morning.   

A flight of US-Bangla Airlines carrying the body and his family members reached at Shah Amanat International Airport around 10:55am.    

Chattogram City Corporation Mayor A J M Nasir Uddin received the body at the airport.    

Confirming the news, LRB band's manager Shamim Ahamed said the body has been taken to Ayub Bacchu’s maternal grandfather’s house at Madarbari in the port city.  

His namaj-e-janaza will be held at Jamiatul Falah Jam-e Mosque in Dampara Wasa intersection area after Asr prayers.

The legendary singer will be laid to rest beside the grave of his mother at their family graveyard this evening.

His son and daughter reached Bangladesh from Australia and Canada respectively on Friday night.

Earlier on Friday, people from all walks of life paid their last tributes to the rock star at the Central Shaheed Minar in the capital.  

The celebrated singer, Ayub Bachchu, died of a heart attack in Dhaka on Thursday. He was 56.
