Two lynched by mob in Gazipur

Two suspected robbers were beaten to death by an angry mob at Kaliganj upazila in Gazipur early Wednesday. 

The incident took place at Rathura village under Nagri union around 2:30am.

The identities of the deceased could not be known yet.

Ulukhola police outpost In-Charge Golam Maula said a gang of robbers numbering 4-5 broke into the house of one Shyam Akand in the dead of night.   

"The inmates of the house raised alarm seeking help. Then, the alarm was announced using local mosque's speakers," he said.    

Later, locals chased the robbers and caught two of the gang while the others managed to flee the scene, he said adding that the angry mob gave the duo a good thrashing, leaving them dead on the spot.

Police recovered the bodies this morning and sent those to Shaheed Tajuddin Medical College Hospital morgue, he added.
