Boat with 6 dead bodies washes ashore in Cox’s Bazar

Police on Wednesday morning recovered six dead bodies from a fishing boat which washed up ashore at Seagull point of Cox’s Bazar sea beach.

The bodies were recovered around 8:00am while two persons were also rescued alive from the boat.

Police assumed that all of the deceased are fishermen while their identities could not be known immediately. 

Fakhrul Karim, assistant sub-inspector of Cox’s Bazar Tourist Police, said being informed from the locals that a fishing boat has washed up ashore early today, a Tourist Police team went to the scene and recovered six dead bodies.

Two persons were also rescued alive from the boat, he added.
