BGB ‘source’ shot dead by miscreants in Damurhuda

Hazrat Ali, 55, a BGB source, was shot dead by miscreants at Nastipur in Damurhuda upazila of Chuadanga.

He died at the emergency department of Chuadanga Sadar Hospital around 3:15 am on Wednesday.

Hazrat Ali is the son of late Rahish Uddin of Nastipur village in Parkrishnapur-Madna union of Damurhuda upazila.

The victim’s son Tawfiq Hossain claimed that his father worked as a source or line man of Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB) and he has given information of multiple smuggling to BGB. 

Tawfiq thinks the smugglers killed his father.

Meanwhile, many locals are speculating that the recent seizure of gold consignment in the hands of Darshana BGB may be linked to the murder.
