‘Miles’ singer Shafin to vie for DNCC mayor polls

“Miles” lead vocalist Shafin Ahmed has been declared as the candidate of Nationalist Democratic Movement (NDM) for Dhaka North City Corporation mayor election.  

Bobby Hajjaj, chairman of Nationalist Democratic Movement, made the announcement at a press conference at National Press Club's conference lounge on Tuesday.

Shafin Ahmed was at his side when Bobby Hajjaj announced Shafin’s name as NDM’s mayoral candidate.

The mayoral post of Dhaka North City Corporation had become vacant after the death of former mayor Annisul Huq.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission will declare the schedule of the Dhaka North mayor election in January next year while the election will be held in late February.
