Allegations of Khaleda's family not true: BSMMU

Denying the allegations about physical condition of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia made by her family members, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Director (Hospital) Brigadier General Dr AK Mahbubul Hoque said Khaleda Zia's medical treatment is going well at the hospital.

The allegations raised by BNP chief's family members are not true, he said while briefing the journalists at BSMMU on Monday afternoon. The press briefing was arranged to inform media about the health condition of the BNP chief.

Mahbubul said that BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia's health is stable and her health condition has not deteriorated in any way.

On Friday afternoon, after meeting with Khaleda Zia, who is undergoing treatment at BSMMU, her sister Selima Islam told reporters, "Khaleda Zia's health condition is very bad. She cannot move her hands, legs well. In this situation, she needs advanced treatment but she is not getting it here."

On April 1, Khaleda was admitted to BSMMU from Old Dhaka Central Jail with severe pain in the joints of her hands and legs, hypertension, insomnia, weakness, high blood pressure and high sugar level.
