Annie lands in jail on surrender

A court here on Thursday sent BNP leader Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie to jail after his surrender before it in connection with nine cases, reports UNB.

 

Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Yunus Khan passed the order rejecting his bail petition in a murder case filed with Sutrapur police station.

 

Besides, Metropolitan Magistrate Shahriar Mahmud Adnan rejected his bail petition in eight violence cases filed with Paltan and Motijheel police stations.

 

The murder case was filed against Annie during a countrywide hartal on November 10, 2013.

 

He was also an accused in seven cases with Paltan police station and one with Motijheel Police Station filed in connection with violence during the BNP-led 20-party alliance’s blockade and hartal program.
