40 DU students get Scholarship

A total of 40 financially challenged meritorious students of various departments under the Faculty of Business Studies of Dhaka University (DU) awarded scholarships today from Hamim Group Limited and First Security Islamic Bank Limited respectively, reports BSS.

 

Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique distributed the scholarships yesterday among the students as chief guest at a function held at Dr. Abdullah Farouk Conference Hall of the faculty. Faculty of Business Studies of DU organized the program.

 

Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies Prof. Shibli Rubayat-Ul-Islam presided over the function while Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank S.K. Sur Chowdhury, Chairman of Hamim Group Limited A.K. Azad and Managing Director of First Security Islamic Bank Limited Syed Wasek Md. Ali addressed the function as special guests.

 

Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique urged the rich people of the society to come forward with their helping hands to patronize brilliant students of the university. He said, investment in education is the best one. Upgrading of human civilization is simply impossible without education.

 

The recipients of First Security Islamic Bank Ltd. scholarships are: Ratna Biswas, Dola Khatun, Auni Saha, Manira Yeasmin (Management), Tania Akhter (Accounting), Sumona Akter Sumi, Mukta Sultana, Aysa Siddika Moni, Mst. Marufa Akter (Marketing), Kaniz Fatema Samiya Haque, Puza Rani, Mymuna, Tama Saha (Finance), Mst. Habiba Khatun (Banking and Insurance), Sumaiya Amin, Tahmina Begum (Management Information Systems), Rima Rani Shill, Sabuj Kumar, Md. Manower Hossain (Tourism & Hospitality Management) and Amena Akter (International Business).
