PM visits residence of Haider Akbar Khan Rono's late mother

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today visited the residence of late Kaniz Fatema Mohsina, the daughter of late Syed Nawsher Ali, the first speaker and the health minister of undivided Bengal, at Dhanmondi 32 in the capital this morning, reports BSS.

 

Mohsina, mother of Haidar Akbar Khan Rono, a presidium member of Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB), died of old-age complications early this morning at the age of 92.

 

The Premier had a glimpse of the body of Mohsina to show her last respect and joined a munajat seeking eternal peace of the departed soul.

 

Sheikh Hasina also talked to the bereaved family members and consoled them.

 

Mohsina, wife of late Hatem Ali Khan, the first chief engineer of the Roads and Highways Department in Bangladesh, left behind two sons-- Haidar Akbar Khan Rono and valiant freedom fighter Haidar Akbar Khan Juno-- as well as a host of relatives and well wishers to mourn her death.

 

She was also a close associate of a pioneer of women movement in Bangladesh Poet Sufia Kamal.
