Writ seeking ban on airing speech of Justice Shamsuddin rejected

The High Court today rejected a writ seeking ban on broadcasting statement of Justice Shamsuddin Choudhury regarding the judiciary.

 

A High Court bench comprising Justice Obaidul Hassan and Justice Krishna Debnath rejected the writ, saying it was "not placed," reports BSS.

 

A lawyer named SM Julfikar Ali on February 22 filed the writ, making information secretary, chairman of Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC), chairman of Bangladesh Press Council and director general of Bangladesh Television as respondents.
