Huge explosives recovered from Dakkhin Khan flat

 A joint team of newly formed Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) and Detective Branch (DB) unearthed a militant den in the city’s Dakkhin Khan area early Sunday and recovered huge explosives and bomb-making materials.
 

However, no militant was arrested during the drive, reports UNB.
 

DB sources said the joint team conducted the drive at a top-floor flat of a four-storey building at 242 Sardarpara in the early hours. The flat was found locked from outside at that time.
 

The law enforcers broke into the flat and found the explosives and bomb-making substances, said DB Deputy Commissioner (South division) Mashrukur Rahman Khaled.
 

“As it was the dead of night, we sealed the flat off and left the place. We had been there again in the morning and defused most of the explosives till the afternoon,” he said.
 

Earlier, a joint team of CTTC and DB conducted a drive in the rented flat of suspected militant Salahuddin, arrested on February 19 from the city’s Badda area, in ‘Nabadoy Housing’ in Mohammadpur on February 22 and recovered bombs and explosives.
