BRTC starts women bus service in city from tomorrow

Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) starts women bus service on Abdullahpur-Mothijheel route in the city from tomorrow, said a ministry release here today.

 

"With the directives of the Minister of Road Transport and Bridges, the women bus service is being launched considering the convenience of the women passengers who usually travel on this route", said the release quoting a ministry official as saying, reports the BSS.

 

With the women passengers, the bus will leave Abdullahpur BRTC bus counter everyday for Mothijheel at 7 am and the bus will again leave for Mothijheel at 5 pm for Abdullahpur.

 

Besides, the BRTC already has launched women Bus Service in Chittagong.

 

At present, two buses are now plying from New Market-Chittagong University Campus and Kalurghat to Kathgarh route under the service, the release added.
