Muhith’s media briefing cancelled

The press conference of the Finance Minister AMA Muhith over the heist of $101 million from Bangladesh Bank’s reserves has been cancelled.

Md Shahedur Rahman, senior information officer to the finance ministry, informed journalists of the update at the Bangladesh Secretariat in Dhaka.

The time was scheduled at 11:00am today, but it was later moved to 2:30pm after governor Atiur Rahman paid a visit to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina this morning.

Shahedur Rahman yesterday told reporters that the minister would hold a press conference at 11:00am on Tuesday, and brief the media about the cyber heist.
