Want to give back country’s ownership to people: Khaleda

Demanding that now the ownership of the country has not remained on the hand of the people, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has said that “BNP wants to give it back to them.”
The BNP chief came up with the remark while speaking at the sixth National Council of the party as the chief guest at the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh at Dhaka’s Ramna on Saturday.
“The people liberated this country after participating nine-month long Independent War in 1971 but now its ownership has not remained on their hand. We want to give the country back to their hand,” Khaleda said.
The BNP chief also unveiled her party’s Vision-2030 plan to turn the country into higher middle income one if it returns to power. She said her party drafted the Vision-2030 plan which will be presented before the countrymen very soon.
BNP will introduce bicameral parliament and the country’s intellectuals and experts on different sectors will be made members of the upper house to ensure country’s development, Khaleda said.
She also said if voted to power her party will take well-sought out and creative plan to elevate the country’s economic growth to double digit.
She said her party will introduce a positive quality in the country coming out of the current politics of vengeance, confrontation and annihilation.
Earlier, Khaleda Zia, widow of BNP founder Ziaur Rahman, inaugurated her party’s sixth national council by hoisting the national flag at 10:48am amid a festive atmosphere.
