World Autism Awareness Day observed

The 9th World Autism Awareness Day was observed in the country on Saturday through various programmes.

 

Different government and non-government organizations organized discussions, processions, cultural functions, art competitions and other programmes marking the day, reports BSS.

 

World Autism Awareness Day is being observed across the globe since 2008 following decision of the UN general assembly.

 

The Social Welfare Ministry organized a discussion at Bangabandhu International Conference in the city today marking the day. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina attended the programme as the chief guest and delivered an important speech. 

 

Presided over by ministry secretary Dr Chowdhury M Babul Hassan, the discussion was also addressed by Health Minister Mohammad Nasim, Chairman of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Social Welfare Ministry Mozammel Hossain and Jatiya Pratibandhi Foundation Managing Director Nasrin Ara Surat Amin.
