CUET closed sine die

The Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) authorities have announced the university closed for an indefinite period.

The announcement came from a press conference on Thursday when the ongoing demonstration of the students with their 9-point demand entered into the sixth day.

The decision was made at an emergency meeting chaired by Vice-Chancellor Md. Jahangir Alam while head of different departments and hall provosts were present, said Md. Fazlur Rahma, Assistant Director (PR) of the university.

Students have been told to vacate the four residential halls by 3:00pm on Thursday while the female students have to leave campus by 10:00am on Friday.

The students have been staging protest in the university since a couple of days, with their 9-point demand including the resignation of Student Advisor Prof Dr Ashitosh Shah.
