SIM re-registration deadline extended to May 30

The government on Saturday extended the deadline to complete biometric re-registration of the SIM cards to May 30.
State Minister for Posts and Telecommunications, Tarana Halim, came up with the announcement while addressing journalists, at a press conference, held in the capital, this afternoon.
The press conference was held at the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) bhaban.
'But all unregistered mobile phone SIM cards will, however, be blocked for a period of 3 hours till May 30 until re-registration,' Tarana Halim has confirmed reporters.
She also warned that all unregistered SIM cards would be blocked after May 31.
