Cargo vessel owners' strike withdrawn

The cargo vessel owners on Monday withdrew their strikes after a fruitful meeting with the Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan.

 

President of Bangladesh Cargo Vessel Owners Association (BCVOA), Mahbub Uddin Ahmed and the Shipping Minister have confirmed the withdrawal to the reporters while addressing a joint press conference today noon.

 

The joint announcement came after a meeting among Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan and Vessel Owners in the capital.

 

Mahbub Uddin Ahmed told reporters, 'The owners will abide by the wage structure set by the government authorities for the workers and the vessels will run from today.'
