Amu to attend Mamata’s swearing-in

Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu will represent Bangladesh at the oath taking ceremony of India’s West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali confirmed the matter while talking to reporters at a press conference at the Foreign Ministry on Wednesday afternoon.

He said, “Mamata Banerjee invited Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to attend her swearing-in ceremony. As the Prime Minister will stay in Japan in that time, Amu will represent Bangladesh at the ceremony.”

Mamata is scheduled to take oath on Friday (May 27).
