Action against those responsible for SSC results error

Action will be taken against those who are responsible for the death of a SSC examinee under the Barisal Board, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid has said.

 “I am personally shocked over the suicide,” he said while talking to the reporters at his Secretariat office on Wednesday.

Salary of those responsible for the results error initially will be stopped and if necessary legal action will be taken against them, Nahid Said.

The SSC examinee of Udayan Bidyalay in Barisal Satyajit Ghosh Sijan alias Ridoy, 17, and son of jeweler Shekhar Ghosh of the city committed suicide on May 11 as he came to know his failure in the examinations. But, in revised results he passed.

As much as 10,492 students sat for the Hindu religion and ethical studies exam under the Barisal Board. Among them 5,809 had sought review of their results, following which 1,994 got different results than the initial ones.

A total 1,141 passed after failing in the previous evaluation and 79 got GPA-5.
