‘AL will have to pay for making minister from JaSoD’

Citing JaSoD was responsible for creating the grounds for the assassination of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Syed Ashraful Islam said the Awami League will have to pay for making a government minister out of a leader of the party.

The Awami League general secretary and Minister for Public Administration said this while speaking as the chief guest at the two-day extended meeting of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) and the concluding session of its workshop at TSC of Dhaka University today.

Syed Ashraful instructed the central leadership of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) not to give shelter imprudent youngsters to their prestigious organisation of students.

"Those who are aloud about revolution can never make revolution a success. Those who usually come up with tall talks, have a very little courage. The imprudent persons can never do constructive work.

You have to pay the price throughout your whole life if you commit mistake in politics. At a time when we used to sip tea at Modhu's Canteen of Dhaka University, our friends of CPB were then taking red wine at Sheraton Hotel," he said in an oblique reference to the left-leaning parties including CPB and undivided JaSoD.

AL joint general secretary Advocate Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Central Working Committee members Sujit Roy Nandi and RAM Ubaidul Muktadir Chowdhury, former BCL president Mainuddin Hasan Chowdhury, former BCL general secretary Ishaque Ali Khan Panna and former BCL president Liaqat Ali Shikdar also spoke at the function.

Pointing at BCL leadership, Syed Ashraf said, "Bangladesh has now been progressing fast under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina with the same rhythm of advancement of the world.

But, it's not possible from the part of Sheikh Hasina alone to implement all the people-oriented development works. You have to implement completely the golden Bangladesh as dreamt of by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman."
