2 held with Tk 7.16 cr gold at Shahjalal Airport

Customs officials detained two people at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport and recovered gold bars and ornaments worth Tk 7.16 crore on Friday, reports the UNB.

 

Assistant Commissioner (Customs) Rezaul Karim said the customs officials challenged two passengers— Mamun Khan and Murad Khan— while they were crossing the green channel of the airport in the afternoon.

 

They came here from Singapore via Bangkok by a flight of Thai Airways at around 12:10 pm.

 

Searching their bodies, the officials of customs preventive team recovered 37 gold bars each weighing 100 gram, one weighing around one kg and other  gold ornaments, said the AC (Customs) Rezaul.
