'BNP-Jamaat carrying out secret killings to create unrest'

Spokesman of the 14-party alliance, Awami League presidium member and Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim said the BNP-Jamaat combine has been carrying out secret killings to create unrest across the country, reports the BSS.

 

He said this while speaking as the chairperson at a view exchange meeting between the leaders of the 14-party alliance and the leaders of Buddhist and Christian communities at the political office of Awami League president Sheikh Hasina at Dhanmondi in the city on Wednesday.

 

Mohammad Nasim said, "After her defeat in all the fields, BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia has been trying to prove to the world that Bangladesh is a communal country. They (BNP-Jamaat) are not human-beings. Had they been termed as human-beings, they would not have killed people with such a cruelty."

 

The 14-party spokesman said, "Bangladesh has been heading towards progress and prosperity. At a time when all in the world are commenting aloud in positive terms about Bangladesh, a vested quarter has started targeted killing of innocent people to create unrest. Those who were against the trial of the killers of 1971 have been unleashing such incidents."

 

Awami League joint general secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif said, "There are two reasons behind the secret killings, firstly to stop the trial of the Rajakars (war criminals) and secondly, for the lust of Pakistani ghost Khaleda Zia to ascend to power. Khaleda Zia launched movement to stop war crimes trial in 2012 and she tried to assume power by killing people setting them on fire in 2013. But, its' not easy to dislodge Sheikh Hasina from power as people are with the Prime Minister."

 

Awami League joint general secretary Advocate Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Samyabadi Dal general secretary Dilip Barua, AL organising secretaries AFM Bahauddin Nasim and Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, deputy office secretary Advocate Mrinal Kanti Das, AL Central Working Committee members SM Kamal Hossain and Aminul Islam Amin, Dhaka City South AL general secretary Shahe Alam Murad, BSD convener Rezaur Rashid Khan, Jatiya Party presidium member Salah Uddin, Ganatantri Party general secretary Shahdat Hossain and Communist Kendro convener Dr Wazedul Islam Khan, Christian Community leader Hubert Gomes, Buddhist Federation president Prof Aseem Ranjan Barua, general secretary Ashoke Barua and Christian Society organizing secretary Proloy Bappi also spoke at the meeting, among others.
