Police quizzing SP Babul: Home boss

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan said that police are quizzing Superintendent of Police Babul Akter to know more about the murder of his wife Mahmuda Khanam Mitu.

The minister said this while responding to the journalists after attending a programme at Dhaka Club on Saturday.

Law enforcers picked up SP Babul Akter from his in-law’s house in Khilgaon of Dhaka this noon.

“Police are confident that those who have been already arrested in connection with the Mahmuda killing are the killers,” Asaduzzaman said.

The minister, however, did not give out any details as to whether he was arrested or is just being quizzed. “You will be informed soon as it’s not yet the time to say anything,” he said.

Earlier on June 5, Mitu, 32, was stabbed and shot dead by unidentified assailants at the port city's GEC intersection on her way to drop her son to school.
