SP Babul released after quizzing

Police has released Superintendent of Police Babul Akter after quizzing him in a bid to get more info about the murder of his wife Mahmuda Khanam Mitu.

Police released Babul Akter around 4:15pm on Saturday after quizzing him, said the SP’s father Abdul Wadud.

Several suspected killers were arrested for their involvement with Mitu murder and Babul Akter has been quizzed to verify their info, added Babul’s father.

About the matter, Babul Akter said, “I was called for the discussion regarding the investigation of the case. Who said that I was arrested? The investigators discussed with me about various subjects of the case.”  

Law enforcers picked up SP Babul Akter from his in-law’s house in Khilgaon of Dhaka this noon.

 Earlier on June 5, Mitu, 32, was stabbed and shot dead by unidentified assailants at the port city's GEC intersection on her way to drop her son to school.
