SP Babul not under scanner: Home boss

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan has said that Superintendent of Police Babul Akter, whose wife was brutally killed last month in Chittagong, is not under scanner.

The home boss said this while responding to reporters at the end of a programme of the Department of Narcotics Control held in Dhaka’s Osmani auditorium today.

“He (SP Babul) is not under any type of scanner of police. Meanwhile, there is no cause to keep him under police scanner,” said the minister.

Earlier on June 5, SP Babul’s wife Mahmuda Khanam Mitu, 32, was stabbed and shot dead by unidentified assailants at the port city's GEC intersection on her way to drop her son to school.

Until now, six people have been detained in this connection and two among them shown arrested. Those two said to have given confessional statements about involvement in the killing.
