UN Security Council condemns Dhaka attack

The UN Security Council has issued a statement strongly condemning "the heinous and cowardly terrorist attack" on a restaurant in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

The statement issued Saturday reaffirmed that terrorism "constitutes one of the most serious threats to international peace and security."

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon also released a statement through his spokesperson condemning the attack and expressing hope "that those behind this crime will be identified and brought to justice."
