All on missing list not militants: RAB DG

All of the people whose names have come on the list of the missing are not the militants, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Director General Benazir Ahmed has said.

“The list contains the names who went missing in various incidents,” the RAB DG said at a awareness programme titled ‘Resist Militants’ held at Gulshan-2 intersection in Dhaka today.

 
The list of the missing people is being updated every day, Benazir Ahmed said adding that the latest list of 68 missing people has been published.

The issue of missing youths has hit the headlines after militants' attacks at Gulshan café and Sholakia as the attackers were reportedly absent from their families for several months before staging the attacks.

RAB Monday released an updated list of missing people in its Facebook page following criticism about publishing an unverified list of 261 missing people on July 20.

The new list comprises of 68 people, aged between 15 and 40, who has been missing since 2011.
