14-party to stage anti-militancy demo in 4 districts

The Awami League-led 14-party alliance will stage demonstrations in Manikganj, Gaibandha, Joypurhat and Naogaon districts, aiming to raise awareness among people against militancy and terrorism, reports the UNB.

 

Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammed Nasim came up with the announcement on Saturday while talking to reporters after a meeting of the 14-party alliance at Awami League president’s Dhanmondi political office.

 

The demonstrations will be staged in Manikganj on September 1, Gaibandha on September 23, Joypurhat on September 24 and Naogaon on September 25, he added.  

 

An anti-militancy revolution is going on in the country under Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s leadership, Nasim said.

 

Replying to a query, the ruling party MP said the grenade attack on August 21 was a plot to kill Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the masterminds and the killers of the attack will be punished.
