RU student crushed under train

A female student of Rajshahi University was crushed under the wheels of a train in Meherchandi area under Motiher Police Station in Rajshahi city on Sunday afternoon.

Shantana Boshak, 23, daughter of Narendra Nath Boshak of Nadhainagar village at Tarash upazila in Sirajganj, was a third year honours student of Sociology department.

Quoting locals police sources said she met the tragic accident while a Dhaka-bound inter-city train hit her when she was crossing the railway track around 4.15pm.

She was immediately rushed to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries around 4:45pm.

Confirming the incident, Aman Ullah, Officer-in-Charge of Rajpara Police Station, said the dody will be handed over to the family after autopsy.
