US Secretary of State John Kerry holds a meeting with BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia at the US embassy in Dhaka on Monday (29.08.16) - Samakal
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia met US Secretary of State John Kerry at the US Embassy here on Monday.
The meeting was held from 4.35pm to 5.10 pm.
BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhurl Islam Alamgir after the meeting said, 'Khaleda Zia has discussed the next general elections with US Secretary of State John Kerry in today's meeting.'
'Issues of democracy, rule of law, militancy and the next general election were discussed in the meeting,' the BNP leader told reporters.
BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, standing committee members Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhruy and BNP Chairperson’s adviser Sabihuddin Ahmed were present during the meeting.
The democracy will be restored in the country with the help of US, he added.
