8 held with Tk52 lakh fake notes in city

Detectives in a drive arrested eight alleged members of a fake currency racket in possession of Tk 52 lakh counterfeit notes from different parts of the city on Thursday, reports the UNB.

 

Identities of the arrestees could not be known immediately.

 

Tipped off, Detective Branch of police launched a drive in different parts of the city and arrested the eight along with fake currency notes worth Tk52 lakh and some equipment for forging currency notes, said Deputy Commissioner (media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Masudur Rahman.

 

Details of the arrest will be informed at a press briefing later, he added.
