After Pakistan, now Turkey upset with Mir Quasem’s hanging

Now Turkey has come up with their opinion regarding the execution of Mir Quasem Ali, who was hanged yesterday for war crimes of 1971.

 

Earlier, in a statement on Saturday night, Pakistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it is deeply saddened over the execution of war criminal Mir Quasem Ali.

 

The Foreign Ministry on Sunday summoned the acting Pakistan High Commissioner in Dhaka and Charge d' Affaires Samina Mehtab and lodged the strong protest.

 

In a press note released on Turkish foreign ministry’s website, the country said it learned “with great sorrow” about the execution of Quasem in Bangladesh.

 

The note said, "We have learned with sorrow that the death sentence issued by the International Crimes Tribunal in Bangladesh against Mir Quasem Ali, Key-Financier and Central Executive Council Member of the Jamaat-e-Islami, has been executed in Bangladesh.

 

We stress once again that the wounds of the past cannot be healed with these methods and hope that this wrong practice will not lead to separation among the brotherly people of Bangladesh."
