Eid vacation extended for one day

The government has announced September 11 as a public holiday paving the way for a total of six-day Eid-ul-Azha vacation including the two-day weekend this year.


September 11 has been made holiday through an executive order of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, said a press release of the Ministry of Public Administration.


The Eid holidays will start from September 11 and will continue until September 14. The working day of September 11  has been made a holiday and instead September 24, a Saturday, will be a working day.


September 9 and 10 are the weekend of Bangladesh. So, the government offices will remain close from September 9 to September 14.  


According to the Hijri Calendar the  Eid-ul-Azha will be celebrated in the country on September 13.


The government also extended one day holyday for Eid-ul-Fitr and then the civil servants had got a long nine-day vacation
