Public Admin Ministry deputy secretary lands in jail

A court here on Monday sent deputy secretary of the Public Administration Ministry Dr Mohammad Abdul Amin, arrested in connection with amassing illegal wealth and providing false information to the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC), to jail, reports the UNB.

 

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Meher Nigar Suchana passed the order when ACC deputy director and also the investigation officer of the case SMM Akter Hamid produced him before the court.

 

The court rejected the bail petition of Abdul Amin filed by his lawyer Imran Hossain.

 

Earlier in the day, the ACC arrested Dr Mohammad Abdul Amin from the city’s Maghbazar area.

 

On July 20 last, the national anti-graft agency filed a case against him with Ramna Police Station for allegedly amassing illegal wealth worth Tk 48.67 lakh.
